I’m the owner of the winery called Cache River Basin Vineyard & Winery AND the restaurant titled Wineaux’s Restaurant. My property is up for sale as I’m way too old to manage it.
As you can see on the website, this is a beautiful piece of property. I’ve enjoyed building this area over the years and am looking for someone to continue the dream. In addition to this area, I own another vineyard in Massac County which is located just 13 miles from here. This Belknap property has 97 acres and the Hillerman property has 3 to 4 acres.
Vines planted here are Norton, Chambourcin, Caco, Catawba, Niagara, and Vignoles. At Hillerman, there are Chambourcin and Norton. Each location has its own barn and machinery. A list of equipment will be supplied with a sale package.
There are some unique features here at the Belknap location. You can see on the website, that there is a wine bottle-shaped pond. We also have 5 acres dedicated to wildlife. There is a special ¾-acre pond that is shallow which allows Herons and Egrets to wade and fish. The rest is grown-up weeds and trees to allow them a comfort zone.
We have turkeys, raccoons, bobcats, rabbits, groundhogs, and deer among the many animals that live here. Earlier this year I was privileged to see a cougar up on top of our hill from the Cache River Winery. What a wonderful sight that was. If you like nature, you will love it here.
